Rebuild Nepal Project 2016 Day 4.
“From A Dream to Reality – Handing over the school to the local community of Prittee Village.
What an incredible effort by all, to have come this far… a global team effort that will stand tall for years to come.
In September 2015 a small team of dedicated TBU volunteers visited Prittee Village, Nepal. To assess the damage from the devastating earthquake in April 2015.
A plan was created to rebuild the local school of Prittee Village with the funds donated to TBU during our “Earthquake relief fundraising campaign” Prittee Village was one of the Black spots areas, that received little to no assistance for Aid assistance.
Thanks to everyone from around the world that supported and donated to our campaign, together we made a difference that will last a life time… enter “The Rebuild Nepal Project 2016”
**In April 2016- the project was completed and ready to hand over to the local community. We will let the photos speak for themselves.
So humbling and we are truly honoured to have made this a reality as part of a global effort. A heart felt thank you to all, for your love and support over the last year, we couldn’t do this without you all.
Its one thing to build a school for 100’s of children after the earthquake in 2015, its another seeing it complete and ready for action and then handing it over to the local community, teachers and students on the first day of the school year in Nepal.
Wowwww…. our hearts filled with love from the local people as our TBU volunteers we treated to the warmest Nepalie welcome reception like no other – the biggest & best RED carpet walk ever!… hundreds of students, teachers and everyone from villagers miles around lined up to personally greet, welcome and connect to us all by offering the white ‘Kata’ of gratitude and thanks… we will never forget this day.
**A special thanks goes to Steve Pineapple Alberts our project leader for the huge personal sacrifice that comes with such a project, not giving up when times got tough and making this happen with our good friends and partners Samir Tamang, Bikram Basnet and all their local crew, all our friends from FHC, Som Tamang and family and our of course Founder Justin Marc Dickinson and special big big love goes to John L P Thakuri 2IC Nepal TBU project leader to Justin & Pineapple, Heidi Woodman from Heidi Woodman Photography for capturing the events so beautifully… and lets not forget all of our friends from Nepal, Australia and around the world.
Together, we did this!
