Volunteering for The Big Umbrella Abroad
So you’ve backpacked through Europe, traversed the markets of Bangkok and trodden the edges of the Grand Canyon, but did you ever feel there was something more?
Volunteering with The Big Umbrella abroad is a unique insight and diverse cultural exploration into the world we live in- it’s about living, not just sightseeing.
What we ask of our volunteers is to step into the lives of those we seek to assist and enrich by volunteering their time and expertise to our array of community projects abroad. Currently we have opportunities for volunteers in Nepal, India, Peru, Nicaragua and Mexico. We believe that everyone has a forte, and our aim is to utilise these talents in a way that is beneficial to both the community and to you. With this in mind, we tailor our volunteering experiences to best meet the needs of the community and the desires of volunteers. Some current placements are aiding the staff at our Big Umbrella House for displaced street children in Kathmandu, lending a hand painting schools in Nicaragua and facilitating our Real Meal and study 4 change programs.
So if you’re looking for a reprieve- however brief or extended -from the doldrums of your 9 to 5, drop us a line and we will be happy to help tailor a volunteering experience that will reach beyond your wildest imaginings… info@thebigumbrella.org
For those unable to travel abroad, we have many volunteering opportunities within Australia. We are always on the lookout for extra hands at fundraising events, administration support and adhoc assistance. This can be tailored to fit around your home and work schedules.
If you’d like to join our team, shoot us an email and let’s have a chat about getting together and making a difference.
