A story from ‘study 4 change’ program Kathmandu
Having met and chatted with Justin while doing the Everest base camp trek we decided to take up the challenge of meeting the kids who were begging on the street in Kathmandu, the same kids who we had ignored and walked past just one week earlier.
Justin had explained that the "Study 4 Change" is teaching the kids some basic skills for an hour, and then going to a place where
the kids can get some food in their belly. Justin already had the sponsorship set up, he just wanted a few extra people to help
out and volunteer their time. It's pretty simple really, If we can distract them from their glue addiction or troubles, and give
them something to do, then something to eat, it has to be better than doing nothing. So we just sat and listened to their reading,
chatted with them, and let them play with our digital camera. It was a fairly eye opening experience for us, these aren't bad kids, just kids who have drawn a really short straw in life, often through no fault of their own. I encourage you to give it a go."Scott and Steph Mc Gregor, NZ
